Are you aware of your impact on Egypt’s Issues?

April 4, 2016 Others

Young people are effective agents of change, however one of the issues that is stopping them in our society is their lack of insights about the current realities and confusion when it comes to finding their role in solving the issues they are really eager to solve (Education, Entrepreneurship Support and Employment)

Viewing illiteracy in Egypt, 16.1 million inhabitants are illiterate. Imagine those people having a challenge of going through their day not being able to read Street signs, food product labels,  ingredients and even doctor's prescription .Even if the adults have children are enrolled in schools they, themselves need assistance.

Another major topic in Egypt is Youth Unemployment, Egyptian youth represent 23.6% and around 26.3% of  those youth suffer unemployment, while 51.2% suffer poverty, according to a 2015 report that  was issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) in August  2015.

Any step taken towards those issues, directly or indirectly,  advances the economic development of any country and fosters the  wellbeing of its citizens as well as their unemployment rates. And since youth shape around ¼ of the population , it is their role to seek solutions and fight for the advancement of Egypt and contribute to shaping the country in the issues that matter to them.

Here come the role of YouthSpeak, which is a global youth movement powered by AIESEC. We are focused on understanding the hopes and challenges surrounding various issues which involve  young people like us and ensuring that youth’s voice and opinions are heard by collecting their opinion using YouthSpeak Survey (

One of the stages of YouthSpeak is the Forum which is a premiere event that brings together both young and senior leaders to form a diverse cross-sector and multi-generational space for inspiring conversations around Entrepreneurship, Employment and Education in Egypt. Throughout the event you will be able to share insights and gain new perspectives to create actionable outcomes to push the country forward.

Our Society needs more young leaders who will speak up for the things they care about so they can help empower and inspire others to do the same. Because at the end of the day, change will not come if we sit down and talk about solving it without taking any action.

So, because the world is ours and it’s time to care and take action, participate in YouthSpeak Forum happening in Cairo on the 15th April 2016 and get the chance to gain insights and generate actions about entrepreneurship,  employment and education .
